3 Steps to Flirty Lashes

Eye-lashes2I’m sure you would have caught all the hype going on about eyelash falsies and semi-permanent eyelash extensions. Both options are great for a night out or special occasions but keeping them up can take some serious effort and worry about said lashes peeling off towards the end of the night. 3 months of lash extensions later, I’ve decided to go back to working with what I’ve got with the best on the market I can find. Trust me, I’ve been very picking about this edit so here are our 3 products to full, plump and natural looking lashes you don’t have to stick on. Talika Lipocils – Eyelash Conditioning Mascara RRP $59 We condition our hair to prevent split ends and further damage so why not have a conditioner for your eyelashes. I was a bit skeptical when I came across Talika Lipocils at Mecca Cosmetics but having read all the online reviews and spoken to Jasmine at Bondi Junction (she is the best!), I decided to give it ago. Those who’ve had eyelash extensions before will know they put a strain on your real lashes. She said that using the product help her lashes go back. Curious and $70 later, I decided to give it ago. It’s been 4 weeks and my lashes have thickened and grow. I’d highly recommend this for anyone with sparse and short lashes. It’s a bit expensive but well worth it. Lancome Cils Booster – Super Enhancing Mascara (available in the US) Primers are like a blank canvas and this Lancome wonder paints a blank canvas for your lashes, coating and protecting them for the lashings of mascara to come. It’s super effective in thickening the lashes. Maxfactor Excess Volumne Mascara $25.95 I was intimidated by the sheer size of the Maxfactor Excess Volumne Mascara at first but this has become my go-to in replicating the extensions I had. It’s a two-sided, two step approach to dramatically thick lashes. One end adds volumne and the other end builds drama with a dark lacquer. What I love about this product is that it doesn’t smudge yet it comes off easily. Added Tip: The skin around your eyes is very  delicate. When removing your make up, use an oil and cotton buds for gentle removal and use as little friction as possible.
